Additionally if you are interested in how to qualify and claim some expenses as a result of working from home please the information and instructions below;
T4s & Claiming Working-from-Home Expenses
The payroll team is currently working on having T4s available on Employee Self-Serve by February 28, 2023.
Those employees who worked from home full-time or part-time for more than 50% of the time for a period of at least four consecutive weeks in 2022 may be able to claim home office expenses on their personal income tax.
Option 1 – Temporary flat rate method
You can claim $2 for each day you worked from home to a maximum of $500.00.
- A T2200S is not required for this option
Option 2 – Detailed method
This method allows you to claim the actual amounts you paid, supported by documents.

EI & CPP deductions resume
With a new year, Employment Insurance (EI) and/or Canada Pension Plan (CPP) deductions resume for those who had reached the maximum contributions in 2022. If you reached the calendar year’s maximum contribution amount for EI and/or CPP in 2022, and were no longer being deducted EI and/or CPP, you’ll notice a difference in your January net pay when these contributions start up again. Deductions will begin for EI and CPP rates beginning on the mid-Jan pay period. Check your paystub for further details.
Requesting additional tax deduction
If you would like to request additional tax be deducted from your pay, please complete the new tax forms located on the SAITNOW Pay Information page. Submit completed forms to Employee Services. Please note, the forms must be completed each calendar year (January to December) to continue or to set up additional tax deductions from your pay. Refer to the payroll calendar for submission deadlines.
