Here is an overview of your Benefits:

Extended Health Care with Manulife:

Eligible as of your first day (no waiting period)
All premiums are 100% paid by SAIT for you and your immediate family members
Emergency Medical Travel coverage, up to $5m
$650 Health Spending Account or Taxable Spending Account for additional health expenses

Dental Benefits with Manulife:

Salaried employees have immediate access to Dental Benefits, no more wait period of 6 months
All premiums are 100% paid by SAIT for you and your immediate family members

Illness & Disability Benefits:

Ten days of casual sick leave per calendar year
Eighty days of general sick leave per calendar year (for non-occupational illnesses/injuries that are longer than three days)
Long term disability plan (for non-occupational illnesses/injuries that are longer than eighty days) which provides non-taxable salary continuance of up to 66.67% gross pre-disability salary – employee pays premiums which start 80 days after hire.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (two times your annual salary)
Basic Life Insurance (two times your annual salary)

Retirement & Savings Plans:

All permanent salaried employees must contribute to our pension plan with the Local Authority Pension Plan (LAPP)
Temporary salaried employees have the option to participate in our LAPP or Defined Contribution Pension Plan with Canada Life
Local Authority Pension Plan (LAPP) - 2020 contribution rates.

Employee = 8.39% to $2,445.83 ($205.21), and 12.84% on the balance up to semi-monthly cap of $7,175.88
Employer = 9.39% to $2,445.83 ($229.66), and 13.84% on the balance up to semi-monthly cap of $7,175.99
