LAPP - For All Salaried Employees - Pension

Prior to January 1, 2022, SAIT used to offer temporary salaried employees the option to participate in LAPP, the DCPP or no pension at all. At that time, LAPP had a two-year vesting period, and so the options were allowed as the employee would likely not be able to meet the two year period while on a short term temporary contract.
However, on January 1, 2022, LAPP removed the two year vesting period - meaning members were now able to earn a pension benefit from day 1 of participation. In light of that, LAPP membership is mandatory for all salaried positions at SAIT.
